Alpaca Poop
- The Magic Beans Your Garden Will Love.
Our alpaca manure, often referred to as "magic beans" or "Black Gold," is an eco-friendly plant food and soil conditioner. Rich in nutrients like nitrogen and potassium, it is a safe, organic alternative to chemical fertilizers. Moreover this poop is gentle on your plants and helps plants grow lush, green, and strong while improving soil structure. Unlike many other manures, alpaca poop has a very low odor, making it pleasant to handle.
Alpaca beans can be composted, used to brew nutrient-rich tea, or simply sprinkled around plants for a slow-release fertilizer.
Our alpaca poop is essentially just grass, water, and sunshine in manure form. Our alpacas graze on fresh grass from spring to fall, and during the winter months, they are fed hay. We don’t use herbicides or chemical fertilizers on our pastures, so the manure you receive is as natural as it gets.
Alpaca manure has lower nitrogen levels that won’t burn your plants. This makes it ideal for use straight -no composting needed.
Alpaca poop has a dense, bean-shaped structure similar to pelleted deer droppings. This improves soil texture and increases water retention, meaning you’ll need to water less over time. Since alpacas have a highly developed digestion system, most seed heads and grains they have eaten do not survive digestion, so you won’t have to worry about sprouting grasses in your garden beds.
Did you know Alpacas naturally are communal poopers, making it easy for us to gather the manure.
How to Use Alpaca PooP
Alpaca Poop is versatile and can be used in a variety of ways to keep your plants healthy and happy:
- Directly till fresh alpaca beans into your garden beds during spring and fall to enrich the soil.
- Sprinkle the beans around the surface of your garden or plants. It acts as a time-release capsule, slowly imparting nutrients with every watering or rainfall.
- Make Paca Poo Tea
-Place the tea bag in a gallon of water (in a glass jar or small bucket). Set the container outside in the sun for 24 to 48 hours to allow the tea to steep. Alternatively you can use an old milk jug or bucket and add a few handfuls of alpaca beans.
After the brewing process, pour the tea directly into your garden or use a hose sprayer to water your plants.
After brewing, remove the tea bag and let it dry in the sun. Once dried, place the tea bag in a plastic bag and store it until you’re ready to brew more tea. Each tea bag can make up to three batches.
After using the tea bag three times, the used beans will still have nutrients left, so sprinkle them in your garden or lawn or dig them in its compostable bag in your garden.
We have a nice little stockpile of Black Gold here at our farm, ready for you to purchase. Whether you’re looking for fresh alpaca beans to sprinkle in your garden or want to brew up some Tea, we’ve got you covered.
Please note: Alpaca Poop Tea is NOT for human consumption. Always use as directed for gardening purposes only. Use standard precautions while handling poop.
