This is us…….
We are Letitia and Sanjay and our passions extend far beyond our professions. Our shared love for animals, exploration, and cultural immersion has shaped our life. From fostering dogs to traversing the globe, and now farming, we have embraced diverse experiences .
In 2019, life took me (Letitia) on a journey that I never expected, one filled with both sorrow and hope. After laying my parents to rest 7,000 miles away, I returned home with a heavy heart. Grief, as many of you know, is a complex and enduring emotion. In search of solace I embarked on a unique journey - one that involved 3,000 tulip bulbs. I dug trenches and planted each bulb one by one, allowing myself the space to be with my thoughts, memories, and emotions.
As I immersed myself in the act of planting, I realized that there was something profoundly therapeutic about connecting with the soil. While grief never truly disappears, this process became a healing practice for me, and it marked the humble beginnings of our healing flower farm.
In 2020, at the start of the pandemic, the tulips emerged and we started leaving bouquets of these very tulips for our neighbors and loved ones. The sight of those vibrant blooms brought smiles from afar. In sharing the beauty and tranquility, we found a way to heal not only ourselves but others who needed it as well.
Fast forward to 2023, our flower farm has blossomed into an actual farm with more than flowers. We hope that The Healing Acres will become a sanctuary of healing and hope, not only for us but for our community. One of our main reasons to continue farming is our a deep appreciation for our farming heritage and to honor our ancestral connection to the earth. We now wish to share the tranquility of the farm with others.
